Container train Baltic Wind (Baltijos vėjas)

Lithuanian Railways together with train operator Hoptrans Projects has signed a Cooperation Agreement on railways transportation via route: Vilnius–Kostanay. On 25 September in 2013, the first container block train Baltic Wind, carrying 42 units of 40' containers (FEU) or 84 units of 20' containers (TEU), was released transporting motor car bodies and spare parts.

Baltic Wind is the sixth container train project carried out through the territory of Lithuania. It runs once a week and transports various industrial goods.

In order to ensure attractive transportation prices and timely delivery of cargo, the Baltic Wind runs 3 times per month, at the pre-scheduled time. The train travels from Lithuania to Kazakhstan within 4-5 days. Since all customs inspections are undergone in Lithuania, the train travels straight to Kazakhstan.
• travelling from Lithuania to Kazakhstan in 5 days;
• fast and safe delivery of cargo;
• opportunities to distribute the goods
• opportunity to transport any types of containers;
• maximum train load up to 150 TEU.
